Background: The ADAPT! project aims to increase understanding and integration of climate resilience and environmental management into programme delivery, plans, and policy across the international humanitarian response, recovery and development programmes in Sudan. This will help the people of Sudan to cope with environmental stresses and climate change. One of the major themes of the ADAPT! project is the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). The project aims to mainstream an evidence based approach to the sustainable management of water resources for all purposes, involving water users and decision makers, supported by appropriate institutional and policy frameworks. To achieve this, the evidence base for the need for IWRM needs to be built, including institutional capacity for understanding, data collection & analysis.
