Server System Operation For Telecommunnication Company 

ü  Team Management

ü  Assist in the implementation of approved policies and procedures for operating system design, implementation and maintenance.

ü  Provide input in the planning of operating systems upgrades and deployment.

ü  Provide support in the implementation and user acceptance testing of operating systems.

ü  Assist in the development of a proactive maintenance cycle for operating systems and automate preventive/routine maintenance on systems.

ü  Perform daily operating system administration, including hardware & software upgrades.

ü  Maintain backup of the operating system network.

ü  Ensure optimal performance of all applications running on UNIX/LINUX/Windows operating

ü  System environment through proactive tuning and preventive maintenance.

ü  Perform daily systems checks and correct any issues.

ü  Monitor systems performance and recommend adjustments to system parameters to ensure optimum performance and response time.

ü  Work with the User Support team to provide second level support to end users and ensure timely resolution of system problems.

ü  Liaise with relevant unit/ team/function in carrying out all relevant activities.

ü  Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.

ü  Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager, IT Operations Support.

ü  Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, IT Operations Support.

ü  Provision, delete, modify virtual machines

ü  Manage permissions on virtual machines and V Center

ü  Resources monitoring and modifications on virtual machines

ü  Track capacity growth on the VMware clusters and data stores

ü  Reclaim wasted resources

ü  Manage virtual switches (Cisco Nexus 1000V): port profiles creation, ports monitoring, UCS manager VLAN configuration

ü  VMware Data stores management and operations

ü  VMware cluster configuration, maintenance and tracking

High availability simulation, DRS configuration and resources reservation

Qualification Required:

o   First degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

o   Minimum of Eight (8) years relevant work experience.

o   ITIL, IBM certificated AIX Admin, VMware VCP certification is a plus.

Skills:

·         Be familiar with day to day operation for Midrange Servers & Distribute Servers such like UNIX (IBM AIX, HP UNIX), Linux (Sun Solaris, Red hat Linux), MS Windows Server, VMware ESXi, Citrix Xeon App etc.

·         Multi-vendor OS Server design, architecture and day to day maintenance experience.

·          Good sense in multi-OS maintenance.

·         Be familiar with ITIL best practice.

·          Be familiar with Midrange Server & Distribute Server products.
