Protection and Education programmes Development

Monitor the emerging humanitarian needs and gaps regarding Protection and Education programmes status of the population focusing on Global Aid Hand’s target population women and children and keeping the a record of the identified needs for fund raising purposes.

Lead in planning of assessments and surveys to identify Protection and Education programmes needs among the target population.

Participate in needs assessment missions, including Interagency of Multisector assessment trips to Global Aid Hand’s areas of interventions

Maintain an up to date data on the humanitarian situation pertaining Protection and Education programmes and remains ready to present it to any necessary platforms including Sector Coordination meetings or with potential funding partners.

Develop draft concept notes and project proposals, including the identification of key indicators, activities and outcomes for pooled funding mechanisms.

Contribute innovative steps that Global Aid Hand could integrate into its Protection and Education programmes programmes
Protection and Education Programme Implementation

Responsible for the implementation of all approved and funded Protection and Education programmes for Global Aid Hand
-
Support the Global Aid Hand in the preparation of Protection and Education programmes Technical Agreement and where possible assist in the negotiations of such agreements as well.

Provide strategic technical support to the country programme and to the Protection and Education staff based in the field services.

Ensure that Protection and Education programmes are consistent with government strategy, organisational goals and comply with international quality and accountability standards such as the Sphere Minimum Standards.

Ensure that beneficiary accountability is taken into consideration throughout the programme implementation.

Liaise with field staff including State Programme managers to enhance collaboration with other technical departments to support integrated programming and improve impact.

Explores initiatives that assist Global Aid Hand to achieve Value for Money and mainstream protection and gender.
Protection and Education Programme Staff Management and Administration

Identify staffing gaps within the Protection and Education programmes and liaise with the supervisor exploring their alternatives solutions including seeking for volunteers, secondment from the Ministry of Education, MOSW, NCCW& SCCW) or recruitment.

Develop staffing requesting form (SRF) for any position to be filled- clearly indicating the person’s job description and person specification.

Attend jobs interviews as the technical and supervisor during the recruitment of any Protection and Education Programme Staff.

Conduct performance review for any staff supervised and make recommendations on training needs and additional support needed.

Ensure that the Protection and Education programmes staff abide by Global Aid Hand code of conduct and take appropriate action when the staffs violate such codes.
Protection and Education Programme Reporting

Generate all reports required for donor purposes, governmental regulations or internal purposes.

Provide quality control for all Protection and Education programmes reports that are shared with the MOSW, NCCW & SCCW and Donors.

Ensures that the field team present monthly reports in accordance with Global Aid Hand standards and format.

Represent Global Aid Hand in Sector Meetings and note key points for sharing within the teams as relevant including sending such briefs to the field offices.
Protection and Education Programme Monitoring and Evaluation

Guide Protection and Education programmes teams to develop and implement robust systems for gathering evidence and measuring impact.

Strengthen health team’s capacity for effective project management through mentoring.

Promote the sharing of best practice and learning in relation to programming, advocacy and campaign activities among field sites.

Ensures that all the sub-grantees (if applicable) implement their Protection and Education programmes to the expected quality and in a timely manner.
