Job Title: Clinical Psychologist II

Responsible to: Immediate Supervisor

Main areas of Responsibility:

1.Provide high standard psychological care to patients (inpatient/ outpatient) based on interpretation and integration of psychological tasting’s, self-report measures, rating scales, and other useful tools.

2.Formulate and implement plans of the formal psychological treatment and/ or management of a client’s mental health problem.

3.Responsible for implementing psychological interventions.

4.Exercise autonomous professional responsibility when assessing, treating and discharging patients whose problems are managed by psychological based standard care plans.

5.Provide under the Supervision of other senior mental health professionals psychological advice, guidance, consultation, and training of other professionals contributing directly to client’s formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plans.

6. Undertake risk assessment and risk management with individual patients and to provide advice on psychological aspects.

7.Provide professionals educational and clinical Supervision to trainees and junior psychology staff.

8.Contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the teams operational policies and services through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit.

9.Contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice through active participation in internal and external Continuous professional development training and development programs.

10.Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping, including electronic data entry, recording, and report writing.

11.Take active part in tutorial journal club and clinical presentation for the division of Psychiatry.

12.Comply with all the professional and ethical standards.

13.Perform other job related duties as repaired.

Education:

MA Degree in clinical or counseling psychology, PHD or PSYD in clinical psychology, supervised clinical training in the program. 

Experience:

Minimum six (6) years supervised training or practice in the field of clinical/ or counseling psychology in a mental health hospital.

Language:

English: Essential

Arabic: Essential

Computer Skills.
