 Background:

Reports to the GSE Manager. He controls and safeguards a major part of the organization's expenditure by planning the budgetary needs and determines appropriate stock control methods and operating policies and procedures. He is responsible for implementing the company and each operator’s procedures and requirements pertaining to the storage, handling, issue, receipt, maintenance, calibration and shelf life control including recording and reporting of all stored parts, tools, equipment and materials. He directs the following functions: space requirements, stock selection and procurement, customer service, customer and vendor relations, planned purchasing coordination and inventory management. He is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and delivering shipments and liaises with the Procurement Department



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

 

  • The store controller is responsible for implementing the company / each manufacturer’s / operator’s procedures and requirements pertaining to the storage, handling, issue, receipt, maintenance, calibration and shelf life control including recording and reporting of all stored parts, tools, equipment and materials.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of materials, equipment and tools required to fulfill work assignments.
  • He directs and supervises stores personnel and ensures company and each operator’s procedures are being followed in ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, inspecting, and shipping of materials, supplies, tools, equipment, or replacement parts. Ensures special handling for delicate supplies. Provides stock trends and identify the stocking needs as per workshop requirements. Also to identify long – and short term goals to meet the future needs of the workshop.
  • Prepares and maintains specialized statistical reports as requested.
  • Maintains Petty Cash. In cases where items are required, to carry out Corrective Maintenance, on an equipment, they are purchased / locally fabricated and payment for same is made through petty cash. Maintains record of bills and payment and forwards same to WS who, in turn, sends it to the Engineering Manager. Keeps record of funds allocated and items ordered.
  • Initiates Purchase Request based on requests from other departments or workshop in consultation with the concerned supervisor. Forwards the same to the engineering manager for approval and also follow-up with procurement for all the approved Purchase requests.
  • Expedites on the Purchase Orders to assure deadlines are met and equipments are serviced on time. Reviews / follows-up with vendors to determine the timeliness of each task being met.
  • He will assist the GSE Supervisor and apprise him of any abnormalities found and also to control any unnecessary expenditure.
  • Responsible to comply with the applicable laws, regulations and procedures of NAS and their customers.
  • Responsible for exercising due diligence towards Health & Safety of self & others in the organization as well as environmental protection issues.
  • Responsible for Safety & Quality of the function/ Task performed
  • Responsible for reporting to his superiors' occurrences, events, violations and acts that may affect safety, security and company reputation.

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

 

  • Education

 

  • Completion of Diploma Degree education.
  • Professional Experience
  • 2 years' experience in technical stores
  • Competencies Required

 

  • MS Office, Outlook, Inventory soft wares
  • Communication Skills ,
  • Teamwork
  • Technical Skills related to job
  • Fluency in English,  management and control
  • Physical and mentally fit for the job
