Background:
-
Responsible for performing CT scanning procedures as requested by medical staff in accordance with department policies and procedures.

Takes part in out-of-hours on call commitments.

|
Duties and responsibilities:
-
Supervises scheduling, patient transportation and preparation for CT scans.
-
Performs CT scan procedures as requested by medical staff.
-
Ensures that patients and staff are protected from unnecessary hazards associated with radiation.
-
Develops films and evaluates accuracy and technical quality of CT scans.
-
Assists in departmental supply ordering and ensures adequate stock level, storage and utilisation.
-
Participates in orientation and in-service education programmes.
Administers direct radiological patient care in accordance with departmental policies and proceduresV
-
Assists in the training, teaching, supervision and assessment of trainee technicians, radiologists and others as required
-
Reports faulty or malfunctioning equipment and accessories to the Chief X-Ray Technologist.

Participates in CQI & PS systems improvement activities.
-
Participates in CQI & PS systems control activities.
-
Participates in CQI & PS staff development activities.
-
Performs other duties / tasks within the realm of his / her knowledge and ability as required.
-
Participates in on call duties.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Education / Licensure:
-
BS in Radiologic Technology OR equivalent
-
Other post qualification professional diploma, such as the Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (DMU), CT, MRI, is desirable.
-
Current licensure from the country of origin.
-
Saudi Council registration and accreditation.
-
Basic Life Support (BLS).
-
Professional Experience (essential):
-
Minimum of three years as a Radiology Technologist.
-
Minimum three years experience as a CT Technologist.
-
Specialised Knowledge (desirable):
Current clinical knowledge of radiology practices.
