Muslim Aid is a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters, conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy. It was established in the United Kingdom in 1985 in response to the drought in the Horn of Africa. Muslim Aid's Sudan Country office (MASCO) was set up in 1991 in response to the strategic need and to enable the continuation of effective aid work in the country. Currently, Muslim Aid is implementing projects in Kassala, Central Darfur and Red Sea State , Algazieera State , Gdarief State in Sudan.

 Background:

The project manager or consultant will implement MA and donor-funded food security/livelihood project in east Sudan and Jazira state. 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitor or manage project finance and must be able to review project budget versus Actuals (BVAs).
  • Coordinating with ministry of agriculture and food security and livelihood cluster and must be able to participate in all relevant meetings.
  • Manage personal and staff security and safety.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • S/he must have a BSC degree in agriculture, community development, rural development or related degree etc.
  • She or he must have at least 10 years of experience in implementing food security and livelihood project in Sudan specifically in Eastern Sudan or neighboring states. 
  • S/he must have at least 5 years experiences working as a project manager with UN-agencies or International NGOs.
  • S/he must have at least 5 years of experience working with UN-agencies and INGOs.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in emergency context preferably in Sudan 
  • S/he must be familiar with livelihood approaches and cash programming.
  • S/he must at 5 years of experience in writing reports
  • must have an excellent command of English language.
  • Must have excellent supervisory and coaching skills. 
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in capacity building or training of staff.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in working with or coordinating with ministry of agriculture and food security and livelihood cluster and must be able to participate in all relevant meetings.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be living or willing to live in east Sudan and neighboring states.
  • Must have excellent, planning, organizing, and leadership skills. 
  • Must have the experience to manage personal and staff security and safety.
